Whoosh, a strong gust of wind hit as Alex and Lovelace fall out of the portal onto the hard metal floor.
‘Where are we?’ Alex asked.
‘The Sydney Harbour Bridge, the place of your ruin’, Lovelace stated.
‘Why have you taken me here?’ Alex asked.
‘To obtain the hidden power of this bridge and unleash its full potential on you’, Lovelace exclaimed. Ever since the day you framed me causing my mentor to abandon me, I have been planning to seek revenge’.
‘Ha, you cannot beat me, I am much more powerful than you. You are only a half-trained magician and will never be able to beat me’, chuckled Alex.
‘Your arrogance will be your downfall’, spat Lovelace. ‘I have completed my training on my own and during my research I came across this place in an ancient book. This is a place of hidden power and when used with certain ancient spells my power will be amplified’, Lovelace utters.
Alex and Lovelace bark syllables simultaneously sending each other flying backwards. Lovelace crawled to his feet and shouted more syllables but it backfired and an invisible hand grabbed Lovelace by the neck and slammed him on the ground.
Alex screamed a spell that engulfed Lovelace with fire. ‘I told you that I am greater than you, you will regret what you have done Lovelace’.
Lovelace nonchalantly spoke some syllables to stop the fire. ‘You may think you’re powerful Alex, but I have got a hidden secret that has been locked away for centuries and you will never know what it is’, Lovelace said. ‘You shall suffer because of what you have done’.
Alex shouts a spell which Lovelace quickly blocks and then bellows out syllables that grabbed Alex by the feet, tipped him upside down and an invisible hand whacked Alex’s backside. Alex could not escape, he was stuck in this position. Lovelace murmured some syllables and let Alex free.
‘Maybe we can come to an arrangement or compromise’, Alex pleaded.
‘There shall be no arrangements or compromises Alex, only death’, Lovelace exclaimed. Alex tried to run away back through the portal but Lovelace shouted a spell that knocked Alex to the ground, pinning his shoulders and feet to the ground.
‘Please Lovelace, I’ll do anything’.
‘I do not want to hear your pleading Alex’, Lovelace interrupted. ‘I have waited for this moment for a long time Alex, ever since the day you framed me and I had to continue my learning on my own. Now you shall pay for what you have done’. With a whisper of syllables dark grey clouds roll in and with a flash of lightning Alex gets swept up off the ground and over the side of the bridge.
‘I never meant for you to lose your master?’ Alex howled, and with a distance splash Alex is no longer seen.
